Wait & Return trips
Last updated: June 5, 2026
A Wait & Return is useful because it automatically blocks the time between the two legs of the trip on the driver's schedule, and Run Bambi Run will not assign a trip to that driver during the blocked wait time. You can still manually assign a trip to the same driver during the wait time, but we'll pop up a warning asking if you're sure.
Wait & Return can only be added to a trip at the time of creation; if the trip is already in the system or imported by a broker integration, you'll need to manually add wait time.
To create a Wait & Return trip:
Click the Add Trip button in the top navigation menu.
Fill out all of the required trip information on the form.
Click Wait and Return at the bottom right side of the form.
Fill in all of the required information for the return trip.
Click Save.
How wait time is calculated for Wait & Return trips:
To calculate the wait time on a completed Wait & Return trip, Bambi looks at two different calculations and takes the larger of the two.
Calculation 1: from when the first leg is marked "completed" to when the return leg is marked "at pickup".
Calculation 2: from the first leg's estimated drop-off time to the second leg's scheduled Pickup Time.
If you would like to change the actual wait time on a trip, you can manually add wait time to the return trip, which will override the Wait & Return calculation.
