How to use Geolocation in Bambi
Last updated: March 27, 2026
Traditional street addresses aren't always precise enough for non-emergency medical transportation. Whether you are navigating to a remote rural area or trying to find a specific entrance at a massive hospital complex, Bambi’s Geolocation feature allows you to bypass standard addresses and assign an exact coordinate point on a map [00:15].
Follow this guide to learn how to create, assign, and manage exact map pins for your drivers.
Phase 1: Adding a Geolocation to a Trip
You can assign an exact coordinate pin directly from the trip creation or editing screen.
Locate the Pickup or Drop-off address boxes on the trip details page.
Click the pin icon located on the far right side of the address box [00:36].
A map interface will open. From here, you can choose to select an existing saved geolocation from your list, or create a new one [00:45].
To create a new pin: Search for the general location (like a hospital name) or zoom into the map manually [00:51].
Click to drop the pin on the exact spot you want the driver to navigate to (such as a specific traffic circle or side entrance) [01:04].
Save the location. The custom geolocation label will now display in the address field for that trip [01:25].
Phase 2: The Driver Experience
Once a trip with a geolocation is assigned, it seamlessly translates to the Bambi Driver App.
The driver will see your specific custom label (e.g., "Boston Children's Traffic Circle") on their itinerary [02:00].
When the driver taps the address to open their navigation map, the GPS will instantly route them to the exact coordinates you pinned, ensuring they arrive at the precise door or designated pickup spot [02:09].
Phase 3: Managing Your Geolocations
You can view and manage all of your organization's saved geolocations from your main settings dashboard [02:21].
Trip Integrity Rules: To protect your historical data and ensure past trip records remain perfectly accurate, Bambi enforces strict trip integrity. This means you cannot edit the physical map coordinates of a saved geolocation once it has been created [02:45].
Editing Labels: While you cannot move the map pin, you are allowed to edit and update the text label of the location at any time [03:01].
Archiving Locations: If a saved geolocation has bad data or is no longer useful to your fleet, you can easily archive it to remove it from your active list [03:11]. You can always view your archived locations by clicking the toggle switch at the top of the menu [03:20].
