How to Manually Create Multi-Loads
Last updated: March 27, 2026
Multi-loading allows you to group multiple passengers into a single, optimized vehicle run, ensuring your drivers take the most efficient route possible. In Bambi, manually creating a multi-load is a two-phase process: first, ensuring the payer allows it, and second, building the load on your dispatch screen.
Follow this step-by-step guide to manually construct multi-loads for your fleet.
Phase 1: Enable Multi-Loading in Payer Settings
Before you can multi-load any trips, you must ensure that the specific Payer covering those trips has multi-loading enabled in their profile [00:00].
Navigate to the Payers section from your main menu.
Locate the specific Payer you wish to update (e.g., Access to Care).
Click the three vertical dots (⋮) next to the Payer's name, then select Edit and view [00:12].
Click through to the next page of their settings and verify that the Multi-loading enabled toggle is turned on [00:17].
Click Save [00:23]. (Note: You will need to verify this setting for each individual Payer that allows shared rides [00:29].)
Phase 2: Building the Multi-Load on the Dispatch Screen
Once the Payer settings are confirmed, you can easily combine trips directly from your daily schedule.
Navigate to your main Dispatch screen [00:34].
Assign the Trips: Ensure that the trips you want to combine are assigned to the exact same driver's schedule column [00:53].
Initiate the Multi-Load: Click the three vertical dots (⋮) on any one of the trip blocks you wish to combine, then select Create multiload from the dropdown menu [01:04].
Select the Passengers: A window will appear asking which trips in that driver's column you want to put into consideration. Check the boxes next to the specific passengers you are grouping together, then click the Multiload button [01:11].
Determine the Routing Order: You will now see a sequencing screen. Organize the exact order in which the driver should perform the run (e.g., Pick up Passenger A, Pick up Passenger B, Drop off Passenger A, Drop off Passenger B) [01:24]. This exact sequence is how the manifest will appear in the driver's mobile app [01:34].
Save and Confirm: Click Save. You will now see a small "M" icon appear on those trip blocks on your dispatch screen, visually confirming that the multi-load was successfully created [01:39].
