How to Set Overnight Storage Locations for Your Fleet

The overnight storage location tells Bambi where each vehicle parks at the end of the day and starts from the next morning. Bambi uses this address to calculate more accurate route start and end points, which improves on-time predictions, dead-mile calculations, and morning route planning. If no overnight storage is set, Bambi defaults to your organization's HQ address.
When to set overnight storage:
Your fleet is split across multiple yards or depots
Drivers take vehicles home overnight
Some vehicles are stored at maintenance facilities
You want morning routes to start from the vehicle's actual location
To set an overnight storage location:
Go to Fleet in the top navigation.
Find the vehicle you want to update and click the pencil (edit) icon.
Locate the Overnight Storage field and start typing the address. Select the correct address from the autocomplete suggestions.
Click Save. The Fleet page will update to show the new storage address.
To reset a vehicle to use org HQ:
Open the vehicle's edit view.
Clear the Overnight Storage field.
Click Save. The vehicle will now default back to your organization HQ address.
How overnight storage affects routing:
Morning route start — The first trip of the day assumes the vehicle starts at its overnight storage address.
End-of-day return — Bambi calculates the dead-mile return to overnight storage after the last trip.
Auto-dispatch matching — Trips that start near a vehicle's overnight storage are slightly favored for that vehicle at the start of the day.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to set overnight storage for every vehicle?
No. Vehicles without an overnight storage address will default to org HQ. Only update vehicles whose actual parking location is different from HQ.
Can different vehicles have different overnight storage addresses?
Yes. Each vehicle has its own independent overnight storage field.
Can I bulk-update overnight storage for multiple vehicles at once?
Not yet — this is a per-vehicle setting. If bulk update would be helpful for your fleet, email Support@bambi.health to let the team know.
