Round Trip Pricing

All trips in Bambi are priced as one-way trips. This means that the base rate and all applicable fees assessed on a trip are applied to both legs of a round trip.

Many transportation providers prefer to offer a discounted rate for booking a round trip, and there are two ways to handle this in Bambi:

• If you are using Bambi's billing feature to invoice your trips, you can manually add a discount as a line item to the invoice.

• If you prefer to price your trips differently from the start, you'll need to set up round trip pricing.

Setting Up Separate Pricing for Round Trips vs. One-Way Trips

Payer Setup

In order to charge different rates for round trips vs one-way trips, you'll need to start with separate Payers.

First, rename your existing private pay Payers to show that they are for one-way trips only (i.e. "Private Pay - One Way").

Next, create a duplicate of each of those Payers and name them to show that they are for round trips only (i.e. "Private Pay - Round Trip").

Pricing Setup

Now you can create a copy of each of your existing pricing schemes. Edit each copy and make sure it only links to the round-trip version of the applicable Payers.

Set the rates in these new pricing schemes to your discounted round-trip rates.

Applying Correct Pricing to a Trip

When you add a trip to Bambi, the key to applying accurate pricing is to make sure you select the correct Payer for that trip. This will automatically apply the appropriate pricing.

If you accidentally select the wrong Payer, you can always edit the trip, correct the Payer, and then re-price the trip to correct the price.

Things to Keep in Mind

• Setting up round-trip pricing in this way requires more initial configuration but eliminates the need to manually add discounts to each invoice.

• There is some room for human error if the wrong Payer is selected on a trip. However, trips can always be corrected and re-priced if needed.
