September 2026: What's New in Bambi

Last updated: October 1, 2026

In September, Bambi opened up to the other software your business runs on, got smarter about which trips to schedule first, and started texting passengers in Spanish.

The Bambi Developer Platform

The Bambi Developer Platform is now fully released. It's a REST API with webhooks, built for connecting your own systems or a partner's to Bambi. Webhooks are out of beta. Owners and admins can request access from a new page in the top-right menu. Once access is on, they manage their own API credentials and webhook endpoints there and can review recent delivery history. Dispatchers can see the page but are asked to contact an admin for access.

Full documentation is at docs.hibambi.com.

Smarter trip prioritization in Run Bambi Run

When Run Bambi Run can't fit every trip on the schedule, it now decides which unassigned trips come first based on service level (stretcher, wheelchair, or ambulatory), distance, and how firm the commitment is (a set appointment versus a will call). Before, it looked mainly at trip length, so a short ambulatory trip could be placed ahead of a stretcher trip. This only affects unassigned trips, and the difference in day-to-day schedules should be small.

Text messages in Spanish

Passengers whose primary language is set to Spanish now receive their trip text messages in Spanish. To use it, set the passenger's primary language to Spanish on their profile. Trip text messages for all passengers were also shortened this month, so they're quicker to read on a phone.

Also this month

  • Pricing has moved. Payers and Pricing are now tabs under a single Payers tab. A banner points the way for the first two months, and you can dismiss it.

  • Invoice filters on trips: a new filter shows trips with unpaid invoices, and the paid invoice filter now loads much faster.

  • Dispatch: a new item in the trip menu opens the new schedule detail view.

  • Payment link invoices: the QR code is now larger and easier to scan.

  • Trip details: the pickup time now appears on its own line, below the pickup header.

  • Crew schedules: confirmation messages now say "crew schedule" instead of "assignment." Long organization names also now show in full.

  • Broker trips: Clearview and Alivi trips are now flagged for address review based on GPS location. MTM trips now support MTM's updated level of service, and MTM will-call trips activate however MTM sends the activation.
