How to Set Up Tiered Mileage Pricing

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Tiered Mileage Pricing lets you charge different rates based on how far a trip goes. Instead of creating duplicate payer profiles for different distance brackets, you create multiple pricing schemes for the same payer — each covering a specific mileage range. Bambi automatically applies the correct scheme based on the trip's loaded miles.

To set up tiered mileage pricing:

  1. Go to Pricing in the top navigation and click Add Pricing Scheme.

  2. Select the Payer and Service Type (e.g., Wheelchair).

  3. Under Mileage Range, set the minimum and maximum miles for this tier (e.g., Minimum: 0, Maximum: 20).

  4. Name the scheme clearly. Recommended naming convention: Payer Name — 0 to 20mi.

  5. Configure the Base Fee, Loaded Mileage Rate, and any other fees for this distance bracket.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Repeat steps 1–6 to create the next tier (e.g., Minimum: 20, Maximum: 40).

  8. For the final open-ended tier, set a minimum mileage (e.g., 40) and leave the maximum field blank. All trips over that distance will use this scheme.

Once all tiers are saved, Bambi automatically calculates the loaded miles for each trip and applies the matching pricing scheme — no manual selection required.
