How to Edit Crew Schedule from Dispatch

Occasionally, you may need to adjust a driver’s schedule on the fly to accommodate a trip that falls outside of their originally scheduled shift. Instead of navigating away to the Team section, you can easily edit a crew assignment directly from your main dispatch screen.

Follow these simple steps to adjust a driver's shift and assign a new trip:

Step 1: Locate the Driver on the Dispatch Screen

Identify the driver whose shift you need to adjust. For example, if you have a 7:00 AM trip but your chosen driver's shift does not start until 7:30 AM, you will need to expand their availability [00:16].

Step 2: Open the Assignment Options

In the driver's schedule column, locate their current shift block. Click on the three little dots (⋮) located at the top of their assignment block to open the options menu [00:21].

Step 3: Edit the Assignment

From the dropdown menu, select Edit assignment [00:26]. A window will pop up allowing you to adjust the details of that driver's shift.

Step 4: Adjust the Time and Save

Change the driver's start time so that it covers the time of the trip you want to assign (e.g., changing the start time from 7:30 AM to 6:30 AM). Once you have adjusted the time, click Save [00:37].

Step 5: Assign the Trip

You will now see the driver's schedule block expand to reflect their new, earlier start time [00:44]. With their availability updated, you can safely drag and drop the unassigned trip right over to the driver's column to complete the dispatch.
