How to Clone a Day of Crew Schedules to a Date Range
Last updated: September 16, 2026
Overview
If your driver and vehicle assignments look the same most days, you no longer have to rebuild them one day at a time. Clone day copies every crew schedule from a single day onto a date range you choose, with day-of-week filters so weekends and off days are skipped automatically.
Common scenarios for Clone day:
You have Monday's driver and vehicle assignments exactly how you want them, and you want the next four Mondays to match.
You need a temporary schedule for a two-week stretch that does not fit your usual pattern.
You are onboarding a new vehicle and want it running the same shift every weekday for the rest of the month.

Important: Clone day copies crew schedules only, not trips. After cloning, assign trips separately in Dispatch. Cloning also does not check driver availability, credentials, or time off, so review the cloned days and adjust anything that does not hold.
When to use Clone day versus other scheduling features
Customers regularly mix these three up. They solve different problems:
Clone day. Copy one specific day's crew schedules onto other dates. A one-time action you run when you need it.
Recurring crew schedules. Set up a repeating weekly pattern that keeps generating on its own. Use this for your standing schedule.
Route templates. Assign the same set of trips to drivers repeatedly. This works at the trip level, not the schedule level.
If you are building your everyday standing schedule, you probably want recurring crew schedules. Clone day is for filling a specific stretch of dates from a day you have already perfected.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Go to the Team tab and open Crew Schedules.
Navigate to the day you want to copy and confirm the schedules on it are the ones you want everywhere else.
Click Clone day in the toolbar.
The Clone crew schedules window opens and lists exactly what it is about to copy, for example "Cloning 2 crew schedules from Mon, Aug 31" followed by each one: "Ms. Frizzle's Magic School Bus · Kelsey Driver · 8:54 AM to 7:54 PM".
Under Clone to, click Select a date range, pick your start and end dates on the calendar, and click Apply. The Clone button stays disabled until you have applied a range.
Use the day-of-week buttons (M T W T F S S) to skip days. All seven are on by default. Click a day to switch it off.
Check the counter before you commit. It reads something like "2 days · 4 crew schedules". Verify both halves:
Days should match the dates you expect. Two weeks of weekdays is 10 days, not 14.
Crew schedules should equal the number of days multiplied by the number of schedules on your source day. Two schedules cloned across five weekdays is "5 days · 10 crew schedules".
If either number is bigger than you expected, fix the range or the day-of-week selection before clicking Clone.
Click Clone. A progress indicator shows "Cloning... 0 of 2 days" while it runs.
When it finishes you get a confirmation with the number of days created. Click Done.
After you clone
Assign trips. The new crew schedules are empty of trips. Go to Dispatch and use Run Bambi Run or a route template to assign work to them. Cloning does not pull trips across from the source day.
Check your people. Cloning does not look at driver availability, credentials, or time off. If a driver's certification expires partway through the range, or they have requested days off, those cloned days need fixing by hand. Switch to List view on Crew Schedules and use the search box to pull up one driver at a time and spot conflicts quickly.
Adjust individual days. Cloned schedules are ordinary crew schedules. Click any one of them to edit or delete it, and the change affects only that day.
Edge Cases and Troubleshooting
Schedules already on a target date. If a date in your range already has crew schedules, you may hit an overlapping schedules error rather than a clean clone. Clear the existing schedules on those dates first, or pick a range that does not collide.
The Clone button is greyed out. You have not applied a date range yet. Open Select a date range, choose your dates, and click Apply.
The counter reads "0 days · 0 crew schedules". Either no range has been applied, or every date in your range falls on a day of week you have switched off.
You cloned more than you meant to. There is no undo. Delete the cloned schedules, using List view to work through them efficiently.
Common Questions
Can I change just one day after cloning? Yes. Click that individual schedule and edit it. Nothing else in the range is affected.
Can I undo a clone? No. There is no automatic undo, so the counter in step 7 is your safety check. If you need to reverse one, delete the cloned schedules.
Does cloning copy the trips too? No. Crew schedules only. Trips are assigned separately in Dispatch.
Does it check whether my drivers are actually available? No. Cloning copies the assignment as it stands on the source day. Reviewing availability, credentials, and time off is on you.
Once cloned, every selected day in the range carries the same vehicle and driver assignments as your source day, ready for dispatch to assign trips.
